If you suspect a child has been abused, you are required to make a report.  A suspicion, not proof, is required to make a report. 

Report suspected abuse immediately to:
CPS 1-800-252-5400 or 911.

IF YOU ARE THREATENED

 

In the event that the suspect, suspect's family or companions threaten or intimidate you, the following actions could be taken:

Under Texas law a person commits a third degree felony offense of Retaliation if he/she harms or threatens to harm another by an unlawful act in retaliation for the service of another as a witness, prospective witness, informant, or a person who has reported the occurrence of a crime.

If this happens to you, report it immediately to law enforcement.

CONFIDENTIALITY

All records and files of the victim witness program and their role in case development are held in strictest confidence.
